Family Law Solicitors in Milton Keynes

Family Law Solicitors in Milton Keynes

We know that family life isn’t always plain sailing. Sadly, not all relationships can be successful, and separating is often emotionally and financially stressful. Our family law solicitors provide advice and support needed to help get our clients back on track. We believe in adopting a constructive approach despite the difficulties.

Our Approach

When things take a turn for the worst, having someone to rely on can make all the difference. From the moment you instruct one of our family law solicitors, we will provide you with a clear, jargon-free understanding of your unique legal position and an estimate of the time and costs involved. That way, you’re in a better place to decide what’s right for you.

We recognise that each family is different and has its own special circumstances, which is why we will always take the time to listen to your situation in full. This helps us to be able to provide tailored advice on how best to protect your interests. Whatever the issue – divorce, a dispute with your cohabitant, financial issues arising from your cohabitation or separation, securing contact with your children or grandchildren. Recognised for our commitment to client care, we will always work proactively to move your case forward, bringing things to a satisfying conclusion in a timely manner.

Our aim is to enable you to move from a painful present to a stable future with minimal fuss, and if possible, we will attempt to achieve this through Alternative Dispute Resolution to save you the costs of court.

We can negotiate a settlement for you, refer you to mediation or sit round the table with you, your partner and their lawyer in the Collaborative law process.

In other cases agreement at an early stage is not possible and a detailed knowledge of the law, legal procedure and local practice is essential, which is why our lawyers can help you and your family.

From initial engagement through to deal completion, Simon Porter guided us through the process of selling our business. He, together with Jessica Williams, covered off all details and handled the mountains of paperwork involved. Throughout, Simon ensured that the best interests of our shareholders were represented, resulting in completion of the deal to the satisfaction of both sellers and buyers.

Emily Pope was and continues to be an incredible solicitor to work alongside. She went above and beyond the call of duty to ensure my case was thoroughly well handled. This meant that I was able to focus on other live events like my health issues at the time. She was always responsive and kept me informed of changes and updates. Her documentation was second to none and all record methods were reassuring. What I valued the most was her empathy and how I felt heard and understood. With regards to fees, they were also very straightforward as to costs so there were no surprises. Where two prior solicitors had failed woefully, Emily rescued my case with the utmost professionalism for which I will be eternally grateful. I've also had the pleasure of working with a couple other solicitors within the firm. Highly recommended.

I was referred by a client of mine to use Neves and specifically Beth Woodward for my divorce. Beth is about as calm and professional as you are ever going to meet. She allayed fears that I had and was very quick to give me a clear path. Beths approach gave me total faith in her and the process that she knows inside out. She is enormously talented and also very adaptive. I think what I valued most was the empathetic approach and quickly understood how I wanted/needed to be spoken to so the information would be retained. My now ex wife was told not to settle unless the figures were between 80-95%. She used 4 different law firms and a barrister and ended up with a huge outlay in fees. My fees were slightly under that predicted by Beth and my ex and I settle on a percentage under 60%. Beth is the consummate professional who over delivers at a little under her projected costs. I could not be happier. Thank you so much to Beth, Jayne and the rest of the team.

No two families are alike. No situation is the same.

Pensions and Divorce Solicitors in Milton Keynes

Pensions and Divorce Solicitors in Milton Keynes

During a marriage, one partner's pension can outgrow the other. During the marriage this isn't a problem, but if the marriage ends, you are no longer entitled to a lump sum or income on your partners death or retirement, and this can lead to inequality in the standard of living you can expect in your old age.

Joint Tenancies Solicitors in Milton Keynes

Joint Tenancies Solicitors in Milton Keynes

If you are the joint owner of a property with one or more other person it is probable (unless you have specified otherwise) that you will own as a “joint tenant”. In this context the word “tenant” actually relates to ownership and is nothing to do with leases.
