Career History
I have over 22 years of experience dealing with all matters relating to Private Client Law. I have previously worked for various large and small high street law firms in Lincolnshire, Cambridgeshire and Northamptonshire before moving to Bedfordshire to join Neves in August 2022. I split my week working at both the Luton and Milton Keynes offices.
Experience
Whilst working as a Senior Private Client Executive I can honestly say no day is the same. The variety of work is both challenging and rewarding at the same time. I pride myself on being friendly and approachable and I believe that it is important to get to know my clients in order to provide them with the best possible advice.
As mentioned above, I have built up expertise in a number of areas, including:
- Probate and Estate Administration Services of taxable and non-taxable Estates
- Applications for Grant of Probate/Grant of Letters of Administration
- Powers of Attorney and Capacity Issues
- Registration and advice on Enduring Powers of Attorney
- Elderly Client Matters
- Preparation of Wills for individuals, married couples and unmarried couples
- Inheritance Tax Planning
- Care Fee Funding
- Trusts
- Declarations of Trusts
- Power of Attorney Administration and Court of Protection Applications
I am also a Dementia Champion, an Alzheimer’s Society programme designed to change people’s perceptions of dementia. Dementia is very close to my heart, therefore, I understand the need for clients to get their affairs in order whilst they are still in a position to do so. I have delivered many informative talks to groups, organisations and charities as a Dementia Champion. This enables me to share my knowledge and own personal experiences, which in turn awards those who attend as Dementia Friends and the hope that they too will change people’s perceptions of dementia.
What makes me human
Outside work, I spend time with family and friends and enjoy swimming and travelling. I will be undertaking my STEP qualification this year with a view to expanding my knowledge and expertise in Private Client Law.
A new death certification process will come into effect in England & Wales on 9th September 2024. The death certification system in England and Wales is overdue for reform – it has remained largely unchanged for 50 years.
