Who are Rachel's Rainbow Dashers?

On Easter Sunday 2019 Rachel was diagnosed with Philadelphia Positive Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia (ALL), a rare form of Leukaemia. She was just 4 years old. Since that day Rachel has undergone an intensive and brutal treatment regime with lengthy stays in hospital.

There are only 4 types of chemotherapy drug that have specifically been developed for childhood cancer and many of those used regularly were first used 50 years ago. During this journey, Rachel’s family have also met families of children suffering with cancer for which there is no cure. 

We’re doing all this for Rachel and all the other child superheroes battling cancer. Rachel means so much to all of us. For some of us she is family, for others she's our child's best buddy, and for all of us she's our biggest inspiration. 

Rachel’s Rainbow Dashers have set themselves the slightly crazy challenge of completing 12 marathon challenges in 12 months to raise money for research into better treatment for children with cancer and to help find cures for ALL types of children’s cancer with the hope that in the future, children will not have to suffer as Rachel has. 

Where are the funds going?

Rachel's Rainbow Dashers are raising funds and awareness for the Children's Cancer and Leukaemia Group (CCLG). 100% of your donation will support research into all children's cancers.

CCLG is a leading children's cancer charity, and the UK and Ireland's professional association for those involved in the treatment and care of children with cancer. They work to improve treatment and care, fund and support research into childhood cancers, and support families with expert information

How you can help

A core group of Rachel’s Rainbow Dashers are completing all 12 marathon challenges! But they want as many people to join and fundraise as possible; they welcome joiners for any challenges - whether you take part in one or many. We have options on almost all challenges to complete part of it, and have children’s sections too.
